About FoSTA Myanmar
Organization Structure
FoSTA Myanmar is organized to bring together food scientists, educators, industry professionals and development partners under a clear, accountable framework. Our structure ensures that decisions on food safety, innovation and professional capacity are guided by expertise, transparency and shared purpose.
Honouring the Founding Members of FoSTA (2013)
Behind every successful organization are individuals who envisioned the future, courageously took the first step, and laid a strong foundation for generations to come. According to the original record dated 11 October 2013, the ten founding members who took part in establishing the Food Science and Technology Association Myanmar (FoSTA) were:

5. Daw Theint Theint Hlaing — Joint Secretary (Visiting Lecturer, B.E. (Chemical), D.F.T., M.F.T., Diploma in Global English)
6. U Than Htay — Treasurer (B.E. (Chemical), Diploma in Food Technology, UK)
7. Daw Si Si Win — Member (Visiting Lecturer, M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry), H.G.P., D.F.T., M.F.T.)

The founding members initiated the establishment of FoSTA to create a professional platform where food science and technology specialists, researchers, educational institutions, and food industry stakeholders in Myanmar could collaborate and work together. Their academic vision, shared commitment, and pioneering efforts to advance food science, food technology, and the wider food sector laid the essential foundation on which FoSTA continues to stand today. The present and future generations of FoSTA remain committed to preserving and building upon the legacy created by its founders. FoSTA will continue to strengthen its work in the areas of: Food Safety, Food Science, Food Technology, Future Food, Functional Foods and Ingredients, Research, Education, and Industry Collaboration. FoSTA respectfully recognizes and honours the ten founding members of 2013, whose vision and dedication marked the beginning of the Association’s history. May the seeds planted by these respected pioneers continue to grow, contributing to a stronger and more advanced food science and technology sector in Myanmar.
